Getting set up, and getting answers.
A setup checklist, answers to common pre-purchase questions, and a direct way to reach BayNerve support.
Setting up a new shop, in order.
Eight steps cover the shop details, people, labor rates, bays, and first work order needed to get started.
01
Create the shop account
Go to app.baynerve.com/signup and register the shop. The person who signs up becomes the owner account.
02
Enter your shop details
Shop name, address, and contact information. These appear on estimates and invoices.
03
Set your labor rates
Every estimate is priced from these, so get them right before the first job.
04
Add your bays
Name them the way the shop already calls them, not Bay A and Bay B.
05
Add your people and roles
Owners, service advisors, technicians, administrators, and read only users. Everyone is included in the subscription.
06
Have the crew sign in once
Technicians should open it on the phone they carry in the bay before there is a car on the lift.
07
Write your first work order
Check in a real vehicle, capture the concern and mileage, and assign a technician.
08
Run one job all the way through
Inspection, estimate, approval, repair, invoice, closed. Then move the rest of the board over.
A practical way to transition
Leave the whiteboard up for the first week. Run every new job in BayNerve and let the board empty itself as the old work closes out. Nobody has to memorize a new system on the busiest day.
Common questions about BayNerve shop management software.

Billing questions are answered on the Pricing page.
What is BayNerve?
BayNerve is auto repair shop management software for independent repair shops. One record can hold the appointment, check-in, digital inspection, estimate, customer approval, technician assignment, labor, invoice, payment status, and vehicle service history so the front counter and shop floor are working from the same job.
How much does BayNerve cost?
BayNerve costs $49.99 per month or $499.99 per year for the shop. It is not priced per user. Customer card payments processed through BayNerve are subject to BayNerve’s standard 3% platform fee plus Stripe processing fees. Connected providers may have their own account, subscription, or processing fees.
Who is BayNerve built for?
BayNerve is designed for independent, single-location mechanical repair shops, especially small teams where an owner or manager stays close to the daily work. BayNerve has roles for owners, service advisors, technicians, administrators, and read-only users such as a bookkeeper.
What does BayNerve integrate with?
BayNerve has live integrations with QuickBooks Online, Stripe, Gmail, and Microsoft Outlook. Connected providers may require their own account, subscription, or processing fees.
Does BayNerve connect with GRBX?
Yes. GRBX and BayNerve are separate Gearbox Technologies products with an optional connection between them. When a vehicle owner chooses to use it, eligible BayNerve work orders can be imported into their GRBX account and matched to the correct vehicle by VIN.
Can technicians use BayNerve on a phone?
Yes. BayNerve runs in a browser and the technician view is built for a phone or tablet in the bay. A technician can claim a job, run an inspection, attach repair evidence, record a voice note, log labor, and record a blocker without walking to the front counter.
Does BayNerve include digital inspections and customer approvals?
Yes. Technicians can record structured findings as Pass, Caution, Fail, or Not inspected with notes and repair evidence. Advisors build the estimate from the repair record, and the customer can approve or decline individual lines. The retained authorization stays with the work order.
Does BayNerve keep vehicle service history?
Yes. Closed work orders remain connected to the vehicle record with repair, inspection, estimate, authorization, and invoice context, including declined or deferred work where it was recorded. Shops can search work orders by customer, vehicle, plate, or work order number.
Can I export my BayNerve data?
BayNerve supports CSV exports for supported record data. Those exports do not include the underlying binary media files. If you need broader data return or deletion help, contact support before your access ends.
How long does it take to set up BayNerve?
BayNerve setup is self-service rather than a scheduled implementation project. Add your shop details, people, labor rates, and bays before you start writing work orders. The time required depends on the shop, and BayNerve does not charge an implementation fee.
How do I get started with BayNerve?
Go to app.baynerve.com/signup to create your shop account. Add your technicians and service advisors under the same shop subscription and start writing work orders. Questions first? Email info@gearboxtechnologies.com.
